Up until now and still now, I’ve been using DuoFonse as a core Arena unit, reblessing him as necessary to suit the monthly season rotation.
Now that I have other Duo units I could use as Arena core (DuoFByleth, DuoEphraim, DuoMicaiah–though DuoMicaiah is already designated Light season AR), I’m considering shifting DuoFonse to AR Light season to steamroll even more–Honestly I have a little bit more trouble in Light season than Astra sometimes.
I don’t like the thought of giving up a high scoring ranged unit though, so really DuoFByleth is what I’m left with… and she honestly doesn’t perform as well as DuoFonse with all the scary blues that are out there in Arena imo. I guess I can still give it a shot though… perhaps.
Either way, it won’t even possibly be happening until after Legendary banner at the end of this month, to see if I can get more Mila copies that would help soak defense chills from DuoFonse.
Pros/Cons DuoFonse vs other mage tanks (Sophia, thus far):
Pros:
-Specials all day
-Mostly brainless for when I don’t have the time for AR
-Doesn’t need Duo’s Indulgence building to be effective (aside from Pulse Smoke weakness)
-Can support other infantry with duo skill
Cons:
-Weak to Duo’s Hindrance
-Weak to Pulse Smoke
-Weak to Firesweep/Dazzle (although so are my other mage tanks)
-Weak to NFU supertanks… like BIke? (rare, RARE on defense)
The setup would be to have Disarm Trap Leila supported with him, to take out potential actual threats before DuoFonse cleans up the rest.
On another hand, I’m also considering Gangrel for Light too, initially to replace Matthew, but my comp choices are pretty much limited to 3 carries per season anyway. XD
…Astra? But then I have Brunnya for blue already.
Arena is no joke either these days tbh, with all the long range and cheat units all over the place. Maybe he’ll stay in Arena after all…
